Swim England recently revealed more than 5 million swimming lessons were not able to go ahead over the last 15 months following the closures of UK public pools.
The loss of pool time means there are fewer children who are able to swim competently, confidently and proficiently over a distance of at least 25 metres, perform safe self-rescue in different water based situations, or enjoy swimming as a way of being active.
To help welcome children back into the pool, Tendring School Sports Partnership has teamed up with Tendring District Council and Active Essex to offer free swimming lessons to children in the Clacton area.
These sessions will take place in the summer holidays and each swimming lesson programme will run daily for one week. To find out more, including how to apply, please click the link below:
