Cases of headlice have been identified throughout the school.
Research suggests that around 10 per cent of pupils in a school have nits, which in an average primary school is about 40 children at any one time. Damp, warm weather and an increasing resilience to conventional treatments is to blame for the outbreak, according to one expert.
In our attempts to reduce the problem within Alton Park School we asked for some advice from Ace to pass onto parents. They have provided us with a leaflet – click on the blue button below to view or visit our parents correspondence page.
Please help us to tackle this problem – check your child’s head on a weekly basis and treat in accordance with the advice. Thank you for your co-operation.NHS Advice on Headlice
