Welcome to Year Six!
Year 6 is an important time in our pupils’ education for a number of reasons: they are the oldest children in the school and are therefore role models for other year groups; it’s their final year before heading off to secondary school; and, of course, they get to show off all of their amazing progress when they sit their SATs.
Year Six children also learn about some very exciting topics, such as World War I and II, The Victorians and The Americas. As well as that, they have the always-unmissable end of year production to look forward to and our annual residential trip – which will be at Danbury this year.
Helping them through this crucial time are their teachers – Miss Robertson, Ms Walker, Mrs Hillier and Mr Plant – plus a dedicated team of excellent teaching assistants.
We are really proud of our Year 6 children and all that they achieve, we hope you enjoy learning a little more about us through our page.

Year 6 Curriculum Map
During the coming term we intend to cover the following topics in our classes. We hope you find this information useful in supporting your child’s learning.
Year 6 Learning Logs
Learning Logs are a journal for the child to record their knowledge and understanding in whatever way they feel is most helpful. Children may use pictures, writing, photographs, labelled diagrams, pop up pictures, fold away flaps, to present their work.
