What do we need to know about Pupil Premium?
What is Pupil Premium funding?
The government augments standard school budgets with extra funding which recognises the number of pupils eligible for free school meals in each school. This is referred to as Pupil Premium funding.
The government has published recommendations for the details that schools should include on their websites about the use of Pupil Premium funding received and the impact it has upon progress for disadvantaged pupils. We are currently preparing strategy documents using these guidelines for publication early in the spring 2017 term.
‘We know a good education is the key to improving young people’s life chances, to enable them to progress into adulthood with the skills and confidence for success. The Pupil Premium will provide schools with the resources with which to address inequalities in the system and raise the attainment of those pupils from low income families.’ DfE
The school has, in its School Development and Improvement Plan, in Outcomes for Learners:-
‘To raise the percentage of disadvantaged pupils achieving age expected standards and required progress values in reading, writing and maths.
To narrow the gap in attainment for vulnerable pupils in all year groups.’

|Leas suite||The Leas suite is for children who are unable to access learning in the classroom. This room supports the needs of the child, whilst dramatically reducing the disruption to other pupils.||23.5|
