Over the upcoming weeks, we are taking part in many festive activities.
On Monday 9th December, each class will receive a Christmas tree. They will then be tasked with the job of making decorations for their trees. Once they have completed their trees, they will be displayed and judged, with the winning class being announced in assembly.
After school, on Tuesday 10th December, parents/carers are invited to come into the school hall and view the trees complete with their children’s creations.
Monday 16th December sees our annual tradition of watching the pantomime at the Prince’s Theatre. The whole school will make their way there, taking part in a morning of fun and excitement before returning to school for lunch. In the afternoon, we will be going out onto the playground to join the Salvation Army band, where we will be singing Christmas songs. Parents/carers are welcome to attend from 2:30pm.
Tuesday 17th December will include the first performances of our Christmas show, ‘Gold, Frankincense and Mirth’. Years 5 and 6 will be performing in the morning (9:30am) and Years 3 and 4 will perform in the afternoon (2:15pm).
Wednesday 18th December is when the final Christmas show performances will take place. Years 3 and 4 in the morning (9:30am) and Years 5 and 6 in the afternoon (2:15pm).
All performances of the Christmas show are open for parents/carers to attend with free entry.
Finally, Thursday 19th December will be our last day at school before we break up for the Christmas holiday. We are holding Christmas Jumper Day on this day, with a suggested donation of £1. All money raised will go to St Helena Hospice. The 19th will also be the day we have our school Christmas lunch. If you haven’t yet ordered your child a lunch and would like to, please make sure you do so before Friday 6th December. Lunch is charged at £2 per child (charge does not apply to children who receive free school meals). Forms can be found here or from the school office.
A programme containing all of these festive events will be coming home with children shortly.
