Last Thursday, Year 6 experienced a taste of what it would have been like to be a child during World War II. On Evacuation Day, children came to school in costume where they were met by their teachers who had stepped back in time to become teachers from the 1940s. The day was spent taking part in a variety of fun, WW2 themed activities. These included learning about rationing, baking carrot biscuits, trying on gas masks and looking at other artifacts. There were also evacuation train journeys around the playground, diary writing and a good old wartime sing-song.
