Both Lower and Upper School choirs joined forces with other school choirs across Tendring to take part in the Tendring Vocal Festival at the Princes Theatre on Wednesday, 10th and Thursday, 11th July and the result was out of this world.
Our singers rehearsed hard to perfect their rendition of the James Brown classic ‘I Got You’ and they astounded us all. They were amazing. The festival ended with everyone singing Bon Jovi’s ‘Living on a Prayer’ and ‘Don’t Stop Believing’ which almost took the roof off!
We would like to thank the festival organisers – Essex Music Hub supported by Essex County Council’s Essex Music Services – who invited the Alton Park choirs to take part and a special thanks must go to Kristian Parkes (vocal specialist and conductor from the Hub) Mrs Rowland and Mrs Stroud (our choir mistresses) and their band of helpers who worked with the children to prepare them for the event and, last but not least, all of the parents who supported their children along the way.
The Hub works with young people, schools and strategic partners, to enable, enhance and enrich the music education available to students in and around Essex. Their teachers have been handpicked for their passion and drive when it comes to delivering a high-quality music service. If you would like to encourage your child to learn to play a musical instrument then the Hub may be able to help. Find out more by visiting their website at https://www.essexmusichub.org.uk/site.
