Staying Safe on the Internet

Internet Safety Sessions for Parents

The Tendring Community Safety Partnership at Tendring District Council have organised the ‘Walk Online Roadshow’ which has been commissioned to raise awareness to young people about the potential dangers they face when using the internet.  The roadshows aim to highlight issues that young people are not aware of, including how easily they can be exploited through well-known online games and apps.

The content illustrates exactly how these sites are used to identify and groom young people and how they can be alert to these risks, knowing how to identify and report them.

We have been invited to take our Year 5 children along at specially allocated times and we are endeavouring to build this into our timetable in Spring Term 2 (ie after February half term) but we thought we should also bring this to the attention of our parents for whom it is just as important to know about the associated risks their children may be exposed to.

If you would like to attend the parent session, it will be held on Thursday, 7th March 2019 from 7pm until 9pm at The Princes Theatre, Clacton-on-Sea.
