Athlete to visit Alton Park

We are very excited to finally be welcoming International 110m Hurdler Gianni Frankis to the school on Friday, 11 May.  This event was due to be held earlier in the school year but due to events beyond our control it had to be postponed.  Gianni is an International 110m Hurdler who has won the National Indoor Championship and a Bronze Medal at the World Youth Championships.

Gianni will be leading a sponsored fitness circuit with all pupils, and will follow-up with a talk and question and answer session. The aim of the event is to inspire the pupils to take up sport generally, but just as importantly to encourage them to discover and then pursue their passion in life.

A letter was sent home with children today together with a sponsorship form so that your child may help raise money for the event if they would like to. You can also sponsor your child by following this link:

As the sponsorship form and online sponsorship page explain, much of the money that is raised will be used to buy sports equipment for the school, while also supporting GB athletes (including Paralympic athletes).

Please ensure that sponsorship forms and moneys are returned to the school office by the Friday, 18 May. Thank you if you previously raised funds, completed a sponsorship form and handed it into the school where they have been kept safely.

Children will need to come to school on the event day with PE Kits to change into please.

Thank you in anticipation of creating a terrific and memorable event.
